Jordan Deputy reveals the death of his relative after being appointed in education without being paid

Khaberni - Deputy Firas Al-Qablan revealed that his cousin passed away a few days ago, after a long battle with unemployment and not receiving his salaries for four months following his appointment in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Al-Qablan said during a legislative session of the House of Representatives that his relative was appointed to the ministry 22 years after graduating from university, at the age of 46, stating that he had not received any salary since his appointment, without any clear reason.

He explained that his cousin had approached the Ministry of Education and Higher Education several times to demand his salaries, only to be surprised by the absence of any salary issued in his name, which led him to return to his home in a difficult psychological state, before he died as a result of his despair, as he put it.

Al-Qablan added that his relative was “closer to death than to getting appointed,” referencing the long years of waiting he endured before finally getting a job opportunity.

Addressing Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan under the dome, Al-Qablan said that many of the officials' children work before graduating from universities, while children of poor classes and "the plowers” wait for long years to get a job opportunity, questioning the fairness in employment opportunities.
