Jordan The government lights up the 100 path with solar energy at a cost of 14 million dinars

Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing announced that the modern lighting project for the Amman Development Corridor is currently in the final referral stage after the tender has been launched and the necessary technical procedures completed. The project spans a length of 42 km and has a total cost of approximately 1.4 million dinars.
The ministry stated that this project is part of the national direction to enhance sustainability and improve traffic safety efficiency. High-efficiency LED lighting units powered by solar energy will be supplied and installed to cover the entire pathway of the corridor, with intense focus on intersections, entrances, exits, and sections that require precise visibility standards according to approved technical specifications.
It confirmed the adoption of the new lighting system based on smart lighting technologies that allow complete automatic control of operation and shutdown, along with regulating the intensity of light according to traffic density and nighttime hours, and providing a remote monitoring system for the condition of poles and batteries to ensure fast fault detection and reduce response time for maintenance. The system is also distinguished by its independence from the traditional power grid, ensuring the continuity of lighting and overcoming problems of power outages or attacks on cables, with storage capacity that ensures efficient operation even in cloudy weather conditions.

The ministry highlighted that the project represents a strategic step towards improving the infrastructure of vital roads and supporting digital and environmental transformation in the ministry's projects.
