Zizo The Construction and Planning Man in Madrids Summer

Khaberni -  Real Madrid received a strong blow in the transfer market, as it failed to sign a pivotal player it aspired to recruit to address a shortage in the midfield.

Although the club "Real" is accustomed to not engaging in the winter transfer window, except rarely or out of necessity, as with Brahim Diaz's deal, it laments not having signed a player capable of resetting the midfield tempo.

Onze Mondial magazine reported that "in Madrid, there is an atmosphere of rebuilding. Following a disappointing season under the exhausted Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid is facing a state of uncertainty. This is especially so with the departure of Xabi Alonso and the team's declining performance."

It confirmed that the European champion and the club with the most Champions League titles desperately needs new blood.

The French newspaper wondered what the targeted position was, stating: "The midfield, the heart of the game, which has been leaderless since the departure of the legendary duo Toni Kroos and Luka Modric."

It continued, "In the corridors of the Bernabeu, one name has been strongly echoed in recent days: Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine playmaker, who Chelsea paid 120 million euros for in 2023, seems to be the ideal target to rejuvenate Real Madrid, as well as to excel against European competitors, including Paris Saint-Germain, which is always looking for creative talent."

The leader of the next phase

It said that the leader of the new phase would most likely be the three-time consecutive Champions League winner, Zinedine Zidane, who has significant trust from president Florentino Perez.

It noted that Perez has already begun planning for next season, including major deals and hiring a new coach, in an attempt to get the team back on track.

It continued, stating that although his name has been associated with coaching the French national team after the upcoming World Cup, replacing Didier Deschamps, Zinedine Zidane remains Perez's preferred choice to lead Real Madrid next season.

Three deals on Perez's table

Regarding the deals, Onze Mondial stated that Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz is one of the targets proposed to strengthen the midfield, which has been struggling since the retirement of Kroos and the departure of Modric.

Ruiz's contract with PSG ends in the summer of 2027, so Real Madrid is negotiating with his team to acquire his services for a small fee.

Alongside Fabian, "Real" is focusing on Portuguese midfield star Vitinha, who is considered the primary target to bolster the midfield, with reports indicating that the deal could exceed 100 million euros.

The backline problems persist despite the reinforcements made last summer, casting a shadow over the Spanish giants.

In this context, the name of Liverpool's French defender Ibrahima Konate emerges as a main target, especially since his contract ends next summer, with reports confirming the start of contacts with his agents.
