Disasters Continue to Strike the Jordanian National Team Before the World Cup

Khaberni - The Jordanian football team received successive blows in terms of injuries, prior to the upcoming events linked to preparations for the 2026 World Cup finals, after several of its prominent players sustained severe injuries requiring surgical interventions and extended absences.

The Qatari club, Al-Sailiya, announced on Sunday that its Jordanian player, Ali Allwan, suffered an ankle ligament tear, indicating that the player would undergo surgery to fix and support the injured ligaments. The club explained via the "X" platform that the recovery period could extend to three months before Allwan's return to the fields. The player had suffered the injury on Thursday during one of the matches, and was subsequently taken to the Spetar hospital to ensure his health condition.

In the same context, more than a month ago, Jordan's striker Yazan Al-Naimat underwent successful surgery at the Spetar medical center, which specializes in the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Al-Naimat (26 years old), a player for Al-Arabi club in Qatar, posted on his Instagram account via the "story" feature: "Thank God, the surgery was successful… pray for me."

The technical staff of the Jordanian national team hopes for a speedy recovery for Al-Naimat, who has scored 26 international goals, and his return to the fields as soon as possible, to be able to participate in the 2026 World Cup finals scheduled in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

According to medical estimates, the absence period for any player suffering from an anterior cruciate ligament tear usually lasts at least nine months, although it may decrease in some cases to seven months or extend up to 11 months, noting that there are very rare cases where players return after just six months, following surgery and rehabilitation period.

Meanwhile, the Jordanian Football Association announced the injury of player Adham Al-Quraishi with an anterior cruciate ligament tear, following the end of the Arab Cup final between the Jordanian team and the Moroccan team, thus continuing the series of injuries that burden the Jordanian national team in a critical phase before the anticipated global event.
In a parallel context, the Jordanian sports street is experiencing an unprecedented state of anxiety regarding the readiness of the national team’s star, Musa Al-Taamari, just before the historic event awaited in the World Cup 2026 scheduled in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

A sudden crisis erupted that may disrupt Al-Taamari's stability in France, raising serious questions about his future with Rennes, amid tense atmospheres within the club’s quarters.

The locker room of the French team, as observed by Khaberni, turned into a highly tense arena following the heavy loss against Olympic Marseille with a score of 0-3, in the round of sixteen of the French Cup, a match that witnessed dramatic events starring the coach Habib Bay and the Jordanian star Musa Al-Taamari.

This clash directly threatens the number of playing minutes Al-Taamari will receive in the coming phase, which may negatively reflect on his preparations to lead "Al-Nashama" in a strong group at the World Cup, including Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.

French journalistic reports revealed the behind-the-scenes of what was known as "the night at Velodrome", where the player, aged 28, faced harsh criticisms and severe words during the halftime of the match.

It was quoted from coach Habib Bay addressing shocking words to Al-Taamari in front of his teammates, saying: "You are not good enough as a player; all you can do is run, you are here just to break through."
