Abu Adi Poultry prices will be lower than last Ramadan

Khaberni  - Engineer Rowan Abu Adi, acting general manager of the Poultry Breeders Quality Union, stated that the selling prices of poultry during the blessed month of Ramadan will be within the normal market rates according to the current data and indicators in the value chain of the poultry industry in Jordan, indicating that the selling prices will be lower than their previous levels compared to last Ramadan.

Abu Adi pointed out that the selling prices of chicken to consumers last Ramadan were about two dinars and thirty-five piastres per kilo for fresh chicken, whereas the price of the trimmings was about a dinar and eighty-five piastres per kilo, noting that current indicators confirm that prices during the upcoming Ramadan will be at least 15% lower, amidst abundant production and supply stability.

She explained that the local production volume of fresh poultry and trimmings is estimated at about 32 thousand tons during Ramadan, not counting the quantities of frozen chicken available in markets, which reinforces the local market's capacity to meet the expected demand during the sacred month.

Abu Adi anticipated that the demand for poultry will see a significant increase during the first five days of Ramadan due to consumers' rush to purchase at the beginning of the month, confirming that the demand will begin to decrease significantly after this period, which will positively reflect on the stability, balance, and maintenance of prices at levels suitable for consumers.

She affirmed that the Poultry Breeders Quality Union continues to monitor market conditions daily, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to ensure the sustainability of the local product's availability and achieve a fair balance between the interests of the farmers and providing poultry at moderate prices to consumers during the blessed month of Ramadan.
