The government completes 20 projects in artificial intelligence

Khaberni - At a time when artificial intelligence technologies and their applications are undergoing astonishing developments that have contributed to serving all economic sectors, the Ministry of Digital Economy stated that the government, under the supervision of the ministry, has completed to date 20 specialized projects in the field of artificial intelligence, which are mentioned in the national artificial intelligence strategy.

The ministry confirmed that these projects, which are distributed across several axes and different sectors, departments, and institutions, are divided between 14 projects that have been fully completed and closed, and 6 others that are continuing annually, such as the project of training government employees on artificial intelligence, according to Al-Ghad.
The ministry said that these completed projects began implementation since 2023 and they form the national strategy for artificial intelligence while the government is also proceeding today in starting and implementing about 28 other projects in the field of artificial intelligence under various ministries,
The government indicated that among these projects, the training of 9,000 governmental employees in the field of artificial intelligence was completed by December 2025, and work was carried out on expanding the Siraj educational platform to 202,262 users (students and teachers), and the number of conversations reached 1,068,946 by the end of 2025.
It pointed out that within this framework, a twinning project to support digital transformation through the protection of personal data and artificial intelligence was also launched in cooperation with the European Union.
Among the completed projects, the ministry also clarified that a project for purifying government data using artificial intelligence, which included two main use cases, was completed. The first was processing Tawjihi (high school diploma) data from the years 1985 to 2004, involving the processing of more than 2 million records to ensure the accuracy of information and its availability in a digital format for use. The second involved linking land records between the Ministry of Local Administration and the Department of Lands and Surveys, including linking more than 2.5 million records, with the goal of unifying data and supporting digital transformation processes.
The ministry stated that Jordan's progress and interest in the field of artificial intelligence have contributed to an improvement in its ranking in international technical reports, including those concerned with artificial intelligence, where a report on the readiness of governments for artificial intelligence issued by Oxford Insights showed Jordan's ranking rise to 49 globally among 188 countries in 2024, compared to the rank of 55 among 193 countries in 2023. Jordan also ranked fifth in the Arab world, outperforming Bahrain, Egypt, and Kuwait.
This progress reflects the efforts of the Jordanian government led by the Ministry of Digital Economy and its leadership in enhancing Jordan’s position as a regional and global center in the field of artificial intelligence. Among the pioneering initiatives highlighted in the global report, there is a project using artificial intelligence to predict electric loads carried out by the Jordanian government, playing a pivotal role in improving the efficiency of the energy network in Jordan, reducing reliance on traditional energy reserves, and accelerating the transition to renewable energy sources through the use of artificial intelligence
In another index, the ministry stated that Jordan also advanced in the AI Diffusion Report issued by the AI Economy Institute at Microsoft for the second half of 2025, where Jordan ranked third in the Arab world and 29th globally in the AI diffusion index among the working-age population, out of 147 economies covered by the report.
Jordan recorded an AI usage rate of 27% among the working-age population, compared to 25.4% in the first half of the same year, reflecting continuous growth in adopting artificial intelligence tools, clearly surpassing the global average of 16.3%.
The index measures the percentage of actual users of artificial intelligence tools out of the total population capable of working, based on usage data from Microsoft platforms, through telemetry systems, and away from public opinion surveys, with statistical adjustments that consider variations in internet penetration rates, operating systems, and population density, ensuring fair comparisons between countries.
On the Arab level in the report for the second half of 2025, the United Arab Emirates recorded a usage rate of 64.0%, leading the index globally, while the State of Qatar, with a rate of 38.3%, ranked among the top ten countries globally.
Jordan followed them directly with a rate of 27%, surpassing a number of Arab countries.
The report pointed out that countries with advanced digital readiness and technical infrastructure register higher rates of using artificial intelligence tools, confirming that expanding internet access, developing digital skills, and enhancing investment in modern technologies are key factors in raising adoption levels.
Jordan's advanced performance in the index during 2025 reflects an upward trajectory in the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the labor market and affirms its ability to keep pace with global technological transformations and enhance its digital competitiveness on both regional and international levels.
