12 Increase in Overnight Tourist Numbers Last Year

Khaberni - The number of visitors to the kingdom from overnight tourists increased by 12% last year compared to the previous year, according to data released by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. According to ministry data, the number of overnight tourists last year exceeded 5.832 million tourists compared to 5.217 million in 2024.

Likewise, the number of one-day visitors last year increased by 36% to reach 1.208 million visitors compared to 891.1 million during the previous year. The number of visitors from Arab tourists to the kingdom rose to about 3.842 million tourists, an increase of 17.5% from 2024, which saw about 3.268 million Arab tourists, according to Al-Ghad.
 The number of tourists from Jordanians residing abroad (expatriates) decreased by 1.2% to reach 1.713 million visitors last year compared to 1.734 million visitors the previous year.
 Visitors from European nationalities to the kingdom last year increased by about 42.2% to more than 955 thousand tourists compared to 671.3 thousand European tourists during 2024.
 Asian nationality tourists rose by about 17.5% last year to reach about 246.4 thousand tourists compared to the previous year, which welcomed about 209.7 thousand Asian tourists.
 The number of tourists from American nationality exceeded 216.4 thousand tourists, an increase of 22.6% last year compared to the previous year, which saw about 176.4 thousand American tourists.
 The number of visitors from African nationality increased by 41.3% last year to more than 67 thousand tourists compared to 47.4 thousand tourists during 2024.
The total number of tourists received by the kingdom last year exceeded 7 million visitors from various countries of the world, an increase reaching 15.3% from the previous year, which saw about 6.1 million visitors. Tourism income last year reached about 7.8 billion dollars, achieving a growth rate of 7.6% compared to 2024.
 Mahmoud Al-Khasawneh, the president of the Association of Tourism and Travel Agents, said: "Tourism numbers have recovered following the cessation of the aggression on Gaza". Al-Khasawneh added: "There will be a positive effect on the tourist sector due to the increase in visitor numbers".
 He noted that the return of low-cost flights played an effective role in transporting tourists to the kingdom and increasing the numbers.
