Jordan condemns Israels decisions aimed at imposing sovereignty and settlement in the West Bank

Khaberni - Jordan, on Sunday, strongly condemned the illegitimate Israeli decisions and actions approved by the Israeli government aiming to impose illegitimate Israeli sovereignty, entrenching settlements, and imposing a new legal and administrative reality in the occupied West Bank.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated in a press release that these illegitimate Israeli decisions and actions constitute a blatant breach of international law and undermine the two-state solution, and an assault on the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to realize their independent sovereign state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with its capital at occupied Jerusalem. The ministry confirmed that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories.

‏The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, emphatically rejected and condemned these unilateral and void Israeli decisions and actions in the occupied West Bank, which clearly violate UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334, which condemns all Israeli actions aimed at altering the demographic composition, character, and status of the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, in addition to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice which confirmed the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation and the invalidity of the annexation of the occupied Palestinian territories.

‏Al-Majali warned against the continued policy of the extremist Israeli government and its illegal and illegitimate actions in the occupied West Bank, which encourage the perpetuation of cycles of violence and conflict in the region.

‏Al-Majali renewed the call for the international community to take up its legal and moral responsibilities and compel Israel and its extremist government to stop its dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank and the incendiary statements of its officials, and to fulfill the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their national territory, as the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.
