Jordan  Private schools cancel the seventh period in Ramadan

Khaberni  - The head of private school owners, Monther Al-Sourani, said on Sunday that school hours during the holy month of Ramadan will start from 9:00 AM until 1:10 PM.

Al-Sourani added that there would be 6 periods per day during the holy month, with the seventh period being cancelled, according to Al-Mamlaka.

He mentioned that if the schedule includes 8 periods, the eighth period will be cancelled, and the school day will end at 1:50 PM, noting that the 5-minute break between periods will be eliminated, and there will be a 10-minute break during the day.

Regarding bus rounds, Al-Sourani explained that their schedules and commencement will be determined according to the administrations of private schools.

The Ministry circulated to the directorates of education the official school hours for public schools, which will be applied starting from the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Ministry indicated that the hours of operation for the directorates of education will start from 9:00 AM until 2:30 PM.

The first period in schools will begin precisely at 9:00 AM, with each class period in single-session schools lasting (40) minutes and the break 10 minutes, eliminating the 5-minute break between periods, and the sixth period ending exactly at 1:10 PM, while the seventh period ends at 1:50 PM, and the eighth period cancelled.

The Ministry clarified that the school day in dual-session schools will begin at 9:00 AM for the morning session and at 12:50 PM for the afternoon session, and the duration of each class period in dual-session schools will be (35) minutes, with a 10-minute break, and elimination of the 5-minute break between periods, such that the sixth period for the afternoon session ends at 4:30 PM.
