It was the seventh of February 1999 and it still remains etched in pain, as on that day, the Jordanians lost a great father and the architect of modern Jordan, the late King Hussein bin Talal, may God bless his soul. Despite the bitterness of loss, the loyalty to Hussein was the best expression of belonging, as the Jordanian men and women stood united, swearing allegiance to the best successor of the best predecessor, pledging with love and assurance His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, an inspiring leader who continues the journey of the ancestors and the modern Jordanian state.
27 years on the anniversary of Loyalty and Allegiance, it's not just a measure of time, but a pivotal national milestone where we recall the era of construction. During which Jordanians lived under the auspices of a robust state and esteemed institutions achieving economic and social well-being, and where we renew the commitment to the renaissance and advancement project led by His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, placing the citizen's dignity and human rights at the core, aiming to improve the quality of life as a lofty goal, with comprehensive political, economic, and administrative reform as a significant national theme.
In the twenty-seventh anniversary amid significant challenges facing the region, we proudly remember the positions and achievements of King Abdullah II. At the national level, the royal directives aimed at enhancing the development project within the three paths of reform - political, economic, and administrative - which reflects positively on the lives of the citizens on the centennial of the Jordanian state.
At the regional and international levels, King Abdullah's positions have been firm in strengthening Jordan's supreme interests and in supporting Arab brethren, defending Arab and Islamic issues with emphasis on the Palestinian cause. The king has dedicated his efforts to bolster global stability, his voice being one of wisdom and moderation against the voice of destruction and violence, proving with his courage and intelligence that Jordan is a pivotal state and a linchpin of stability in the region, steadfast in its national constants on which the state was founded, always advocating for prioritizing dialogue over war, calling for peace and a culture of life and human respect. Additionally, meetings and visits have led to robust economic partnerships with sibling and friendly nations, positioning Jordan as a regional investment hub.
We affirm on the twenty-seventh anniversary of the Day of Loyalty and Allegiance, the depth and strength of the relationship between the wise Hashemite leadership and the people, a relationship based on trust, loyalty, and belonging that cannot be reduced to a picture or a word, for it is larger than can be described, embodied in every detail of the lives of all Jordanians. Because the Hashemite school, from which we learn and never suffice, taught us that actions are the best expression of citizenship and belonging, thus we renew our pledge that our actions will always precede our words.
We rally around the throne and the Hashemite leadership, believing in the state and its institutions, practicing our responsible citizenship based on a culture of respect, plurality, and diversity, and working together for the advancement of Jordan and its people, defending it valiantly and forging a bright future where there is only room for building and modernization, to make this the Jordan His Majesty desires—a strong national Jordan where Jordanians live in peace and safety, and an Arab Jordan that does not abandon its historic role in supporting its brethren.
