Khaberni - The Minister of Education, Azmi Mahafazah, confirmed that the ministry has begun to enhance the use of the AI-supported national learning platform "Siraj" in schools, noting that the number of teachers trained on the platform has reached 60,000, while the number of students who have accounts on it is about 266,000.
This was stated by Mahafazah during his participation in the workshop "Strategy for Designing the Intervention of the AI Assistant 'Siraj' in Education", which was organized by the ministry in the presence of the president of the Supreme Council of the National Center for Curriculum Development, Moheydeen Touq, and representatives from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, National Council for Future Technology, and the Global Education Center.
Mahafazah explained that the "Siraj" platform is vital for all parties involved in the educational process, indicating that the ministry has started this path and wants to introduce all possible improvements to maximize benefits from the platform, confirming that all students and teachers in public schools, private schools, UNRWA, and military culture, will soon have accounts on it.
In turn, Amin Mar'i, an expert in educational innovation and artificial intelligence at the Global Education Center, emphasized the importance of developing scalable learning solutions based on evidence, focusing on how AI can be harnessed to support teachers, improve the quality of learning, and drive transformation within educational systems.
The workshop aimed to unify the national understanding of the AI Assistant "Siraj" and its importance within an integrated educational program that ensures the achievement of the desired objectives for the student, teacher, educational system, and investigating mechanisms and components necessary for achieving these objectives.
Moreover, the importance of continuous assessment and experimentation was stressed to ensure the effective employment and development of the AI Assistant, Siraj, to serve the Jordanian educational system and that its use is expanded gradually and thoughtfully, based on what actually succeeds in the field. The workshop concluded by emphasizing the employment of its outputs in the operational plan for the Siraj program.
Siraj is one of the projects of the National Council for Future Technology, under the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, aimed at employing technology to improve the quality of educational outcomes.
