Khaberni - The Greater Amman Municipality begins this evening the replacement of 32,500 lighting units in the central islands of the capital's streets with smart and energy-efficient LED lighting, connected to a central control center, as part of a comprehensive plan to develop the lighting system and enhance its operational efficiency.
The municipality explained that the new system allows remote control of lighting intensity according to need, in addition to providing the main center with instant reports on malfunctions, which contributes to a quick response and reduction of blackout periods.
The plan also includes the rehabilitation of lighting in tunnels and bridges across various areas of the capital, which enhances traffic safety and improves lighting quality.
This step comes as part of the Greater Amman Municipality's directions to adopt smart solutions and modern technologies in managing the city's facilities and improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
