Khaberni - Dr. Nimer Al-Saleihat, the head of the parliamentary finance committee, said that the finance committee will discuss with the government early on the possibility of increasing public sector salaries for the 2027 budget, within the context of improving the citizens' living conditions.
Al-Saleihat added that the finance committee will start communicating with the government and related entities as the government begins preparing the 2027 budget, which is expected to take place next June. There will be ongoing dialogues to discuss the issue of salary increases, according to the financial possibilities available to the state.
Al-Saleihat confirmed that the salary increase file is part of a complete budget file that is based on a comprehensive technical evaluation aimed at enhancing the efficiency of public expenditure and improving the quality of services and supporting economic growth, which will positively reflect on citizens and the national economy.
Earlier, the Minister of Finance, Abdul Hakeem Al-Shibli, affirmed that the year 2027 will bring good news for Jordanian employees regarding their salary increases.
He said that he has received clear instructions from Prime Minister Jafar Hassan on this matter, noting that the natural increases in salaries for 2026 amounted to 270 million for civilians and military personnel, and that the promised increase in 2027 will be in addition to the natural increase and will not replace it.
