Khaberni - Egyptian director Tarek El Arrian caused widespread interaction on social media platforms in Egypt, following his disclosure of new developments related to the anticipated artistic project that deals with the autobiography of the Egyptian artist Amr Diab, about four months after the announcement of the work in November 2025, written by Ibrahim Eissa and directed by him.
El Arrian clarified that the project is still in the preparation and ongoing discussion phase, confirming that a large number of episodes of the series are ready at the writing level, as part of the initial preparations to start execution, he said.
The director mentioned that he had direct communication with the artist Amr Diab a few days ago to discuss the written and agreed-upon ideas, pointing out that the drama will not bear the title of Ibrahim Eissa's book "Amr Diab.. Where There Alone", confirming that the decision has been made to name the series "Fame", adding that the project was originally an idea of an old project, according to his expression.
According to media reports, the drama is scheduled to showcase Amr Diab's artistic journey from his early beginnings, through the pivotal moments that shaped his career, to his unique status in the world of music and singing, with a focus on his life under the spotlight of fame and stardom.
In this context, opinions vary about the nature of the artistic and intellectual presentation of the series, whether the new work re-presents the drama that bore the same name many years ago and whose execution was hindered at the time for specific reasons, or if it represents a completely different vision, presented with new artistic signatures combining the writer Ibrahim Eissa and the director Tarek El Arrian, away from the previous concept.
Currently, artist Amr Diab is linked to projects that tackle his autobiography, such as the novel by writer Ibrahim Eissa titled "Amr Diab.. Where There Alone," which has sparked wide controversy since its announcement in late November 2025, amid a wave of criticism leveled at the project before its release, on the grounds that there are other societal models more deserving of being addressed in a literary work.
