Khaberni - The head of the Union of Centrist and National Islamic Parties Bloc, MP Captain Zuhair Mohammed Al-Khashman, stated that the joint statement issued at the conclusion of His Majesty King Abdullah II's visit to the Republic of Turkey and his meeting with His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, represents a significant political milestone reflecting the maturity of Jordanian diplomacy and its ability to build balanced partnerships at a highly sensitive regional moment.
Al-Khashman pointed out that the statement was not conventional in its content, as it carried clear messages at its core, including the priority to stop the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip, the rejection of displacement and annexation policies, and the defense of the historic and legal status of the city of Jerusalem and its holy sites, in alignment with the steadfast and responsible leadership of His Majesty the King.
He added that the joint statement reaffirmed the importance of the humanitarian aspect, and the necessity of ensuring the continued delivery of aid without obstacles, alongside supporting international efforts and concerned United Nations institutions, particularly the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), enabling it to continue its vital role in providing basic services to the Palestinian people.
Al-Khashman explained that one of the most important aspects of the statement is the transition from political relations to practical partnership, particularly in the fields of economic, commercial, investment, and military cooperation, and encouraging the private sector in both countries to build joint projects that contribute to stimulating growth, creating job opportunities, and enhancing economic stability.
He emphasized that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, continues to cement a balanced political approach that combines protecting national interests and commitment to just causes, with humanitarian role and regional responsibility, stressing that the Union of Centrist and National Islamic Parties Bloc sees this approach as a model of diplomacy that produces firm positions and genuine partnerships, not transient statements.
Al-Khashman concluded by affirming that enhancing Jordanian-Turkish relations on this solid basis constitutes an important lever for regional stability and reflects the wisdom of the Jordanian leadership in managing sensitive files with state logic, not reactions, and with a policy of principles not narrow calculations.
