Khaberni - Álvaro Arbeloa, Real Madrid coach, confirmed that "the Negreira case" represents the biggest scandal in the history of Spanish football, expressing his extreme surprise at the failure to resolve this complex issue to date.
A Complex Encounter
Arbeloa, in the press conference for the Real Madrid and Valencia match in La Liga, said he expects a complex encounter at the "Mestalla" stadium, noting that the difficulty of the match lies in the fan atmosphere and the consistent strength of the opponent.
Commenting on the appearance of Joan Gaspart, former president of Barcelona, before the court, Arbeloa said: "No one understands how the biggest scandal in Spanish football is still unresolved, I think this should concern many".
When asked about Barcelona's decision to withdraw from the Super League on Saturday, he avoided answering the question.
Rest Periods
Arbeloa emphasized that Real Madrid still has a lot to offer, stating: "The team is far from reaching its level of ambition", and defended the work plan he has followed recently in the absence of midweek matches, justifying giving the players two days off (Monday and Tuesday) by saying: "In the first 20 days I was here, the players only had two days off, it was a week of high physical effort".
Regarding players returning from injury, Arbeloa said: "I will decide tomorrow. We are fully aware of the difficulty of the match, Valencia is always a strong team especially at their home ground, and we need to bring our best if we want to win the three points".
On using midfield players in full-back positions, the Real coach commented: "All players are available and I will use them in the way I see fit to win. My goal is to choose the player who gives us the highest performance based on the opponent, and we have versatile players".
Pintus' Plan
Regarding the controversy around the days off and the physical program prepared by Pintus, Arbeloa said: "The planning aims to prepare the players in the best way. Everyone knows the importance of the physical trainer Pintus and no one doubts these plans. We had a week of hard work, and the rest was well thought out".
Regarding the physical and technical development of the team, the Spanish coach added: "It's hard to talk about percentages of improvement, but our dedication to work will reach the maximum to extract the best from the players and clarify their roles on the field. Great teams need to do many things right to win, and we strive to anchor automatic mechanisms in play, which only comes with long hours of work".
He added, "Mastantonono arrived young with tremendous abilities, possessing strength, maneuverability, and playing on the flanks with high intensity. Reaching the desired level is not easy, but his talent is clear to everyone, and I am very pleased with his work".
