The shocking footage showed the teenager standing in front of the repair counter, then biting the battery forcefully, which led to the penetration of the battery's outer casing and a massive "thermal runaway." Moments later, flames erupted accompanied by dense sparks, according to experts, resulting from the reaction of the internal materials with oxygen and the release of uncontrollable energy.
Technical safety experts warned that lithium batteries store very high energy, and that any biting, puncturing, or crushing could transform them into what resembles a small explosive device, emphasizing the need to keep them away from children and to immediately transport damaged batteries to recycling centers.
