Khaberni - The Virtue Preservation Committee in the Islamic Action Front warned against invitations to hold parties described as "indecent", stressing the need to maintain the sanctity of Ramadan and respect the values and moral and religious constants of the Jordanian society.
The committee stated in its statement that true art is a lofty message aimed at refining public taste and promoting noble values, emphasizing the distinction between purposeful, sophisticated art and alien practices that contradict public decency and harm the identity and culture of society.
The committee expressed its regret for recent invitations to hold noisy parties that include aspects contrary to public morals, considering such practices provocative to the feelings of citizens, especially under the difficult humanitarian circumstances the nation is going through, and the still-bleeding wounds of the people of Gaza.
The committee called on officials and concerned authorities to prevent any actions contrary to decency in public events, while supporting purposeful art that reflects the identity of the society and carries a high educational message. It confirmed that the Jordanian society clings to clean and refined art that does not conflict with religious values nor offends public taste.
The committee concluded its statement with prayers for the protection of the homeland and the preservation of its religion, values, and morals, to remain a beacon of virtue and a straight path.
