Khaberni - The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that what remains of the operating hospitals in the Gaza Strip, which are struggling to continue providing service, have become mere obligatory waiting stations for thousands of patients and the injured facing an uncertain fate.
In a statement, it confirmed that the effects of "healthcare genocide" have been catastrophic, making the continued provision of healthcare a daily miracle and a significant challenge in the efforts of recovery and restoring many specialized services.
It explained that zero balances of medicines and medical supplies have turned even the simplest pain relievers into a luxury that those facing death every minute cannot afford.
It noted that 46% of the list of essential medicines have zero balance, and 66% of medical consumables have zero balance, along with 84% of laboratory materials and blood banks.
It indicated that services like cancer, blood diseases, surgery, operations, intensive care, and primary care are at the forefront of services affected by the crisis.
It added: "The amount of medicines reaching the hospitals in the sector is limited and cannot fulfill the actual need for continuing the provision of health services."
It confirmed that saving the health situation in Gaza's hospitals cannot happen with only temporary emergency solutions that accumulate serious effects.
The Ministry of Health renewed the urgent and immediate plea to all concerned parties to intervene to bolster the pharmaceutical stocks.
