Loyalty and Allegiance The Philosophy of Stability in the Jordanian State
Author: الدكتور زيد احمد المحيسن

In an Arab era burdened with stormy transformations, and a regional scene intersected by crises and conflicts, Jordan stands out as a cohesive political state that has been able to maintain its stability and keep its balance, relying on a solid system of values, legitimacy, and deep national relationships. This meaning is most clearly reflected on the Day of Loyalty and Allegiance, which is not merely considered a passing national occasion, but represents a meaningfully dense expression of the governing philosophy in the Jordanian state, and the secret behind its stability and continuity.
Loyalty, in the Jordanian sentiment, is not just a remembrance of the departure of a great leader, but is a historical acknowledgment of an exceptional journey led by the late King Hussein bin Talal, may God rest his soul, who laid the foundation stone for the modern Jordanian state. Throughout forty-seven years, Hussein the builder led the state project with wisdom and foresight, safeguarded the independence of the national decision, entrenched the approach of moderation, and managed regional challenges with the mind of a state, not the emotion of the moment, thus becoming a symbol of national unity and a guarantee of stability in a turbulent environment.
From the womb of this historical legacy, allegiance is renewed to His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, not as a political tradition, but as a mutual national contract, whose essence is trust, responsibility, and partnership. His Majesty took over the responsibilities during a delicate phase of the region's history, chose a path of gradual reform and balanced modernization, placing the Jordanian human at the heart of the development process, and believing that a strong state is built by institutions, its stability maintained by justice, and its future safeguarded by conscious participation.
The stability of the Jordanian system was not the result of a transient situation or a temporary security equation, but the fruit of a comprehensive system of factors; foremost among them is the Hashemite legitimacy with historical and religious roots, which granted the state symbolic and moral depth, and reinforced the popular rallying around its leadership. This is bolstered by the presence of constitutional institutions that maintained the regularity of political life, managed diversity and differences within legal frameworks, alongside armed forces and professional security agencies that formed the shield and strong fortress of the nation.
On the international front, Jordan pursued a balanced policy based on moderation and wisdom, thus being a voice of reason in an environment where interests conflict, a reliable partner on the international stage, and a steadfast defender of the causes of the Arab and Islamic nations, with the Palestinian cause at the forefront, stemming from a historical responsibility that the Hashemite leadership has never abandoned.
In this context, the Day of Loyalty and Allegiance becomes a dense expression of the meaning of continuity in the Jordanian state; a continuity based on preserving the legacy, renewing the national project, and integrating roles between the leadership, institutions, and the people. It is a day that reaffirms that the relationship between the Jordanians and their leadership is not merely one of authority and society, but a national partnership that is renewed by the covenant, deepened by action, and tested by the ability to face challenges.
Thus, Jordan continues its path with firm confidence, based on an honorable history, aware leadership, and a people who recognize that loyalty to the past is only complete by working for the future, and that the true allegiance is not just a slogan raised, but a permanent commitment to building a strong, safe, stable nation capable of withstanding the strong winds, storms, challenges, and crises around us ..
