Khaberni - Egyptian media sources reported that Cairo International Airport investigations arrested former Egypt national team and Zamalek club star Amr Zaki, while he was attempting to leave the country, based on executing judicial sentences issued against him.
Yala Kora website explained that the former player's arrest came after security screening revealed his name on travel ban lists, pending several family cases before the judiciary, prompting immediate legal actions upon his arrival at the airport.
According to security sources, Amr Zaki was issued a final judicial sentence of one year imprisonment based on a negligent injury case in El Alamein city, a sentence that became executory, leading to his arrest and transfer to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures.
Amr Zaki is considered one of the most prominent Egyptian football strikers in the past two decades, having represented the Egypt national team in several major tournaments, as well as wearing the Zamalek shirt and achieving notable successes with it, in addition to having professional stints abroad, notably in the English league.
