Khaberni - "Axios" reported that the White House intends to hold a "Peace Council" meeting for Gaza on the upcoming February 19.
Axios conveyed from an Israeli source that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House on February 18.
According to Axios, Netanyahu has accepted Trump's invitation for Israel to join the Peace Council in Gaza, but he has not signed the charter.
According to Axios, the upcoming Peace Council meeting in Gaza will discuss the reconstruction of the sector.
Peace Council Draft
The administration of US President Donald Trump has requested that countries wishing to obtain a permanent seat on the new "Peace Council" he proposes should contribute no less than one billion dollars.
According to the draft charter of the Peace Council, President Trump will serve as the council's chairman in his capacity as its first president, and he alone decides whom to invite to the council's membership, with decisions being made by a majority of the votes, where each attending member state has one vote, and all decisions are subject to the president's approval.
The draft states:
"Each member state serves for a term not exceeding three years from the date this charter comes into force, with the possibility of renewal by a decision of the president. The three-year membership term condition does not apply to member states that contribute more than one billion US dollars in cash to the Peace Council during the first year the charter comes into force."
The council is defined in the charter as "an international organization that seeks to promote stability, restore trustworthy and lawful governance, and secure lasting peace in regions affected by conflicts or threatened with them". The council will become an official entity as soon as three member states approve the charter.
The document also notes that Trump will be responsible for adopting the official seal of the group.
