Guardiola Responds to Criticisms from the Jewish Council

Guardiola said in the press conference before the Sunday match against Liverpool in the Premier League, "Why am I not allowed to express what I feel? Just because I'm a coach? I disagree, but I respect all opinions."

He added, "Innocents are being killed, and I strongly condemn that."

Guardiola's recent statements come in response to the criticisms he faced from the Jewish representatives council in Greater Manchester following his statements before the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final between Manchester City and Newcastle, last Wednesday.

A statement issued by the council on Thursday demanded that Guardiola "focus on football instead of international political issues."

Guardiola Firmly Rejects "Genocide in Palestine"

In his statements on Wednesday, Guardiola touched on the killing and wounding of children in conflict areas, saying, "The footage I see pains me."

He pointed out global conflicts, saying, "Never in human history has information been so clearly before our eyes, the genocide in Palestine, and what happened in Ukraine, Russia, and Sudan."

Guardiola emphasized his desire to use his position to speak frankly and call for a better society.

On October 8, 2023, Israel started a genocide in the Gaza Strip with American support, which lasted two years and left about 72,000 Palestinian martyrs and more than 171,000 wounded, most of them children, women, and the elderly.
