Khaberni - Turkish intelligence arrested two individuals, one of whom is Palestinian, who were working for the Israeli «Mossad» in a joint operation with the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office and the city’s police anti-terrorism division.
Turkish security sources stated on Friday that during the operation named «Monitum», a Turkish citizen named Muhammad Budak Derya, and a Palestinian with Turkish citizenship named Faisal Karim Oglu were arrested after being under surveillance by Turkish intelligence for a long period.
The sources added that both individuals had been providing information to the Israeli «Mossad» for years under the guise of trade, and it turned out that they had held meetings in a third country, used encrypted communications, and planned to infiltrate international supply chains by establishing fake companies, and that their arrest prevented the «Mossad» structure in Turkey from reaching an advanced stage and establishing an organization with its base in Turkey.
Contact with «Mossad»
The ongoing investigations with the accused revealed that Derya, a mining engineer, first attracted the attention of «Mossad» in 2005 when he opened a marble quarry in the Silifke suburb of Mersin city, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in southern Turkey, and began foreign trade, initiating contact for the first time through a person named Ali Ahmad Yasin, who visited his office in September 2012.
According to the sources, Yasin, believed to be an alias, was running an Israeli shell company, and invited Derya to a business meeting in Europe in January 2013, where it is believed he met «Mossad» operatives for the first time and discussed marble trade, and a «Mossad» agent named «Louis» suggested employing a Turkish citizen of Palestinian origin, Faisal Karim Oglu.
Both individuals (Budak Derya and Karim Oglu) were instructed to regularly exchange information about all their joint activities. The investigations revealed that since 2013, Budak Derya held meetings in a European country with several «Mossad» agents, expanded his business relations with Middle Eastern countries through Faisal Karim Oglu, established social and business relations with Palestinians opposed to Israel's regional policies, and relayed the collected information to the «Mossad».
