Khaberni - In a tragic incident that shook Egyptians, a wedding, which was supposed to be the beginning of a new and happy life, turned into a large mourning event after a horrific car accident in Minya, Upper Egypt, claiming the lives of the bride and groom and two others, yesterday evening, Thursday.
According to the details, a car flipped over in Bani Mazar, north of Minya Governorate, carrying on board a couple on their way to their marital home after the wedding, along with the bride's sister and another person. The accident resulted in the immediate death of the bride and her sister due to their severe injuries, while the groom and the driver were seriously injured.
Upon receiving the report of the accident, the security forces were alerted, and ambulance cars rushed to the location. The injured were transported to the hospital for the necessary medical care, and the bodies were moved to the hospital's morgue under the jurisdiction of the competent authorities. An official report of the accident was filed, and the public prosecutor was notified to begin investigations.
The groom followed his bride in death, but the tragedy did not stop there. The groom breathed his last after arriving at the hospital, succumbing to his severe injuries, on what was supposed to be 'the wedding night'.
Sorrow overshadowed social media sites in Egypt, where pages turned into a site of condolence, and a poignant clip spread showing the bride’s father in a state of collapse as he cried for his daughter with painful words saying: "I didn’t get a chance to rejoice in you, my daughter.. the beloved daughter of her father."
