Closure of Spice Mill Subordinate Workshop in Amman

Khaberni - The public institution of food and drug's inspection and oversight teams closed a workshop affiliated with one of the spice mills in the capital, Amman, as part of its regular inspection campaigns to ensure the safety of food being circulated in various regions of the kingdom.

The institution noted in a press release on Friday that the workshop did not have a guiding sign indicating its name, and it was not licensed; it also failed to meet health certificates, health regulations, maintenance, and general cleanliness standards. The statement revealed that the workshop was involved in mixing, packing, preparing, and packaging various types of spices, during which a quantity of materials such as flavors and mixes were seized, including some that did not have a production date.

The institution also referred to the judiciary the personnel in charge of the workshop for legal proceedings and seized all the confiscated food materials in preparation for their destruction, emphasizing that its oversight campaigns will continue to ensure compliance with health standards.

The institution invited the public to contact it in case of any observation or inquiry or complaint through its toll-free complaint line 117114, email [email protected], and via WhatsApp at the number (0795632000).
