Real Estate Trading in Jordan Drops 6 during January

Khaberni - The real estate trading volume in Jordan during the past January reached JOD 513.4 million, registering a 6% decrease compared to the same month in 2025, according to data from the Land and Survey Department, which showed a 23% decline in land sales and 16% in apartment sales for the same month.

The data, monitored by "Al-Mamlaka," showed an increase in the revenues of the Land and Survey Department in January 2026 by 1% on a yearly basis, reaching about JOD 25.9 million.

During the past January, the total number of real estate transactions, including apartments and land, reached 9,562 transactions, marking a 21% decrease compared to the same period in 2025, which recorded 12,116 transactions.

The figures indicated a decrease in apartment sales transactions in the kingdom by 16% during the past January, registering 2,393 apartments compared to 2,861 apartments in January 2025, while land sales transactions decreased by 23% to reach 7,169 transactions, compared to 9,255 transactions during the corresponding period last year.

In terms of the number of apartments sold according to area during the past January, the number of sold apartments smaller than 120 square meters decreased by 5%, registering 765 apartments compared to 805 apartments in January 2025.

Furthermore, the sales of apartments ranging in size between 120 and 150 square meters decreased by 15%, reaching 653 apartments, compared to 772 apartments in the same period last year, while the sales of apartments larger than 150 square meters also decreased by 15%, totaling 1,097 apartments compared to 1,284 apartments during January 2025.

705 properties sold to companies

The total number of contracts and properties sold to companies during the past January amounted to about 705 properties, according to the report monitored by "Al-Mamlaka".

Regarding the ownership by non-Jordanians, the number of ownership transactions during the past January decreased by 1% compared to the same period last year, while apartment sales to non-Jordanians rose by 11%, with a decrease in land sales by 15% on a yearly basis.

The data indicated a 30% decrease in the estimated value of non-Jordanian ownership transactions during the past January compared to January 2025, amounting to about JOD 10 million.

The ownership statistics showed that the percentage of female owners reached 34.79%, compared to 65.21% for males.

The main center of the department topped the revenues with about JOD 5.3 million, followed by the land records of West Amman with about JOD 2.76 million, then the land records of Amman with about JOD 2.73 million, while the revenues of the land records of North Amman reached about JOD 2.68 million, and the land records of South Amman about JOD 2.51 million.
