How long will Ali Alwan be absent from the fields

Khaberni - The head of the football department at Al-Sailiya Club in Qatar revealed details about the injury of the team's striker, Ali Alwan, confirming that there is no fracture, but his absence may extend to about 6 weeks, practically meaning the end of his season with the team.

He explained that the intervention by Al-Gharafa's defender was very strong, believing that the referee should have shown the red card, and emphasized the need for referees to play their role in protecting the players.

Alwan was injured during his participation in the match in which Al-Sailiya defeated Al-Gharafa with a score of 1-0, on Thursday evening, within the Qatar Stars League competitions, where he left the field on a stretcher and was substituted in the 28th minute after being subjected to a strong and violent intervention.

Further details of the injury are expected to become clearer in the coming few hours. It is worth mentioning that Alwan, the top scorer of the Arab Cup, had moved to Al-Sailiya from Karama, preferring to return to the Qatari league despite receiving a lucrative offer from Riyadh.

Alwan was subjected to a reckless intervention by Al-Gharafa's Senegalese defender Sidou Sano, prompting the manager of the opposing team, Mujib Hamed, to check on the player on the field.

It should be noted that Sano had previously caused an injury to Jordan national team's striker Yazan Al-Naimat during his participation with Al Arabi, where the player then fell unconscious.

Injuries are becoming a source of concern for the technical staff of the Jordan national team led by Jamal Salami, after both Al-Naimat and **Adham Al-Quraishi** suffered ACL injuries during their participation in the Arab Cup 2025, before Alwan joined the list of the injured with a severe injury.
