Khaberni - U.S. President Donald Trump, who was elected twice to the highest office in the country but still refuses to concede his defeat in the 2020 elections, said on Thursday that he needs to win the elections to satisfy his pride.
The Republican president stated during a speech held in Washington, "They rigged the second election. I had to win it. I had to win it. I needed it for my personal pride," and added "My pride would remain wounded for the rest of my life."
It appears that Trump was referring to his candidacy in the 2020 election, which he lost to his Democratic opponent Joe Biden by a narrow margin.
The 79-year-old president added, "Defeating these crazies was unbelievable."
After his easy victory over Democrat Kamala Harris in a historic comeback in the 2024 elections, Trump continues to insist that he won in 2020.
Since his return to the presidency a year ago, Trump has tasked the Justice Department with launching a campaign to re-evaluate the results of the 2020 elections, raising concerns among the Democratic opposition.
The latest chapter of this campaign was a search conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) at an election center in the state of Georgia (South) last week.
On January 28, FBI agents seized 700 boxes of electoral documents including ballots from Fulton County in the city of Atlanta, located at the heart of Trump's accusations of electoral fraud.
The president has repeatedly proposed the idea of making the organization of elections a federal responsibility, contrary to what the United States Constitution stipulates, as the Constitution entrusts the organization of elections, whether at the local or national level, to the fifty states.
