Money cant buy happiness A tweet from Elon Musk ignites a global controversy

Khaberni - American billionaire Elon Musk has sparked a wide wave of controversy on social media, after a brief tweet in which he expressed his view on money and happiness, challenging the common belief that links wealth to psychological satisfaction.

The richest man in the world wrote on his platform "X": "Whoever said money doesn't buy happiness knew exactly what they were saying," and attached the tweet with a "sad emoji".

The tweet quickly spread widely and garnered tens of millions of views in just a few hours, and opened the door for discussion wide among tweeters, where followers were divided between those who sympathized with Musk's talk, and those who mocked the idea of the world’s richest man speaking about the absence of happiness.

One tweeter wrote "Give me a billion dollars first, and let me see for myself whether happiness will come or not," while another commented "Isn't $840 billion enough?"

Among the striking comments, American investor Bill Ackman wrote a direct message to Musk, saying that a large part of happiness comes from helping others, adding: "You have helped millions around the world, and maybe one day they will be billions you just have to appreciate what you have achieved", Ackman noted that happiness can also be built through a long and stable human relationship, considering that this aspect is no less important than financial success.

This debate comes at a time when Elon Musk continues to break records in the world of wealth, with his wealth estimated at about 668 billion dollars according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, while Forbes estimates suggest it has exceeded 850 billion dollars after merging SpaceX and "xAI" into a single entity with a valuation approaching 1.25 trillion dollars.
