Khaberni - Israeli media revealed "concerning" statements made by the Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a closed meeting for the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in the "Knesset".
The Israeli media quoted Netanyahu explicitly warning about the pace of armament adopted by the Egyptian army, considering that the power-building process by the southern neighbor requires close and permanent monitoring.
According to what the Israeli media published, Netanyahu informed the committee members of the necessity to not be satisfied with the existing peace relations, saying: "We must ensure that this Egyptian military accumulation does not reach an excessive level that could turn into a future threat."
The Israeli reports indicated that these concerns coincide with the notable growth of Egypt's naval and air capabilities, prompting the security establishment of the occupation to reassess the "cold peace" between the two parties.
The analyses in the Israeli newspapers concluded that Netanyahu's words reflect a new phase of apprehension, where Tel Aviv views with suspicion any increase in military power of any country in the region, even those with which it has peace treaties.
