Khaberni - In a significant political development that reflects the success of the new American approach, Stephen Witkoff, envoy of President Donald Trump, revealed substantial progress in negotiations related to the Russo-Ukrainian war.
Witkoff confirmed in statements reported by "Reuters" on Thursday that the discussions were very constructive, focusing primarily on how to create objective conditions to achieve a "permanent peace" that ends years of bloody conflict.
Prisoners Swap: 157 soldiers from each side
In the first concrete step to build trust, Witkoff announced reaching an agreement whereby both Russia and Ukraine will release 157 prisoners of war from each side (a total of 314 prisoners).
This agreement represents the first fruits of direct American mediation, where it was also agreed to continue trilateral discussions (American-Russian-Ukrainian) in the coming weeks to consolidate the pillars of this diplomatic path.
