Messi gives Barcelona the key to ironclad defense

Khaberni - Spanish press reports revealed on Thursday that FC Barcelona has set Tottenham's defense star, Argentine Cristian Romero, as a main target to strengthen its defense line.

Mundo Deportivo newspaper said: "Barcelona is preparing to sign the Argentine international Cristian Romero, after the latter, who is 27 years old, decided to leave 'Spurs' despite his contract ending in 2029."

Los Angeles Galaxy is preparing to open official communication channels with the entourage of the Brazilian star Casemiro, in an effort to sign him during the upcoming summer transfer period, taking advantage of his contract with Manchester United ending in June.

It added: "This is not the first time Barcelona has shown interest in signing Romero, with the former 'Barça' player Lionel Messi asking his Argentine teammate to come to the Catalan team to strengthen the defense line, and at that time the club had offered 40 million euros, but the deal ultimately failed."

Barcelona had signed Portuguese international Joao Cancelo on loan until the end of the current season in the last winter transfer window.
