Khaberni - The University of Science and Technology of Jordan participated in the 2026 World Government Summit, held in Dubai under the theme «Forecasting the Governments of the Future», by an official invitation from the Dubai government and the United Arab Emirates University, with wide international participation including a selection of leaders of states and governments, decision-makers, and experts from around the world.
The university was represented at the summit by its president, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, where the participation was part of showcasing the university’s pioneering experience in stimulating entrepreneurship and innovation, enhancing the creative ecosystem and digital transformation, and consolidating its role in serving the community and sustainable development. The university also presented an overview of its most significant initiatives and programs in the areas of digital transformation, support for entrepreneurial projects, and linking scientific research to community needs and the labor market, in accordance with contemporary global trends in institutional performance development and governance.
Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Salem affirmed that the university's strategy is aligned with the modernization paths being implemented by the government, under the vision and directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, may God protect him, especially the economic modernization vision. He pointed out that the university is working to translate these national orientations into practical programs and initiatives that enhance innovation, support the knowledge economy, and contribute to preparing competencies capable of meeting future requirements.
Dr. Al-Salem stated that the university’s participation in the World Government Summit reaffirms its belief in the importance of engaging in global platforms concerned with shaping the future and exchanging expertise in the fields of good governance, innovation, and digital transformation, noting that the university operates according to a strategic vision focused on building student capacities, empowering academic competencies, and enhancing partnerships with local and international institutions to contribute to community service and achieve sustainable development.
Dr. Al-Salem added that the university is continuously developing its academic and research systems, aligning its programs with the rapidly changing global variables, which enhances its role as a leading educational and research institution, contributing to the preparation of a generation capable of innovation and competition in the knowledge economy, and actively participating in building more resilient and future-ready societies.
This participation underscores the advanced academic status enjoyed by the University of Science and Technology of Jordan, its active role in representing the Jordanian higher education sector in international forums, and its enhancing presence in global initiatives concerned with governance and innovation.
The 2026 edition will witness the largest leadership participation since the inception of the summit, hosting over 60 heads of state and government and their deputies, more than 500 ministers, and representatives from over 150 governments, alongside a selection of thought leaders and experts.
