Khaberni - The Income and Sales Tax Department conducted field visits that targeted a number of categories and sectors required to register in the national electronic billing system, aiming to obtain feedback from the compliant entities, monitor observations, and suggestions related to the system's implementation, as well as to verify compliance with its provisions.
During these tours, the Department notified the non-compliant establishments and individuals, and granted them a legal deadline to rectify their status before taking any legal actions against the violators, in accordance with the effective legislation.
The Department issued notices to 379 establishments and individuals for their non-compliance with the provisions of the national electronic billing system and for not issuing genuine invoices, where they were given a week to legally rectify their status.
The Department affirmed that the teams from the Enforcement and Billing Directorates will continue to conduct their field visits, whether to obtain feedback from compliant entities or to verify compliance with the system's provisions, notifying the non-compliant and granting them a week's deadline before taking legal actions against violators.
The Department indicated that the number of registrants in the national electronic billing system has reached about 158,000 companies, establishments, individuals, and professionals, while the number of invoices issued daily through the system has risen to around 1.2 million invoices.
It also mentioned that the national electronic billing system was linked with the government "Sanad" app, which enables companies and establishments to verify that their local purchases are made from suppliers compliant with the system, in addition to enabling any individual receiving an invoice to verify its authenticity by scanning a (QR Code) through the option to verify digital documents within the application.
