Khaberni - The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the Department of Mosque Facilities Protection and Services under the Agency for Mosque Affairs in Saudi Arabia, detected 774 cases of encroachments on the mosques' electricity and water services in various regions of the Kingdom during the year 2025, as part of its periodic supervision reports aimed at protecting the facilities of the houses of God and ensuring the sustainability of their services.
The department clarified in its report that the total encroachments included 577 cases on the electricity services and 197 cases on the water services, where 742 cases were addressed, with 569 cases of electricity and 173 cases of water, while 32 cases are still under proceedings.
It was pointed out that these infringements involved misusing the electricity and water resources of the mosques for unintended purposes, which poses a burden on the operational facilities and affects the efficiency of the services provided to the worshippers.
The Ministry reiterated the continuation of field tours for monitoring and follow-up through its branches in different regions of the Kingdom, and taking legal actions against the violators in coordination with the relevant authorities, emphasizing the importance of preserving the mosque facilities and compliance with the regulations and instructions adopted.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance calls on citizens and residents to cooperate with it, and to report any observations or encroachments on services or properties of mosques, through the unified contact center (1933), or by visiting the ministry's branches in the regions, confirming the importance of the community's role in supporting its efforts to care for mosques and maintain their facilities.
