This policy includes recognizing licenses from 52 countries during the visit, and allowing the replacement of licenses from 53 nationalities upon residence, as part of organized procedures aimed at simplifying services and improving traffic safety efficiency.
The service "Murakhoos" is available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its smart application, offering multiple options including: visitors who wish to drive their vehicle immediately, residents who want to replace their license, or UAE citizens who wish to use their license abroad, under clear conditions.
Conditions for replacing the license upon residence include:
1. Reaching the legal driving age in the UAE (18 years and above).
2. The license must be issued from a country listed in the approved list.
3. Provision of residency issued from one of the state's Emirates.
4. The original license must be valid.
5. Passing an eyesight test.
6. Surrendering the original license for some countries.
The required documents include: a copy of the original license, legal translation of the license, and submission of the application electronically. The replacement fee has been set at 600 Dirhams.
