Khaberni - The government estimated the cost of building 41 academic and vocational schools in several governorates at 170 million dinars, as part of the projects announced in its executive program for the years 2026–2029.
The government has set plans to establish these schools as part of the public-private partnership plans in Amman and the governorates, through phased implementation, with the aim of reducing overcrowding and improving the quality of education and creating a better educational environment for students.
The government has included the project in the general education sector axis, as part of an initiative to improve infrastructure, enhance professional development mechanisms for education sector workers, and implementation mechanisms, according to the document tracked by "The Kingdom".
The government's plan for the years (2025–2029) includes the construction and rehabilitation of 500 school building projects to reduce overcrowding, eliminate the two-shift system, and phase out rented schools, as it continues to aim for the full inclusion of kindergarteners under 6 years of age.
It is also planned that the Ministry of Investment will offer an opportunity for the school transportation project for public schools, to develop a sustainable transportation system for public school students, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, to transport students from home to school and vice versa.
The project aims to develop a sustainable school transportation system that improves transportation efficiency for students and ensures their safety, through providing dedicated buses that connect students' homes and schools within a comprehensive regulatory and administrative framework, relying on a fleet of modern and safety-standard-equipped buses, and aims to reduce traffic congestion and enhance environmental sustainability by using energy-efficient buses or those operating with environmentally friendly systems.
