Khaberni - A tourism source said that the number of visitors to Jordan during the past month of January reached 600,000 tourists from various nationalities.
The source added that the number of visitors to the Kingdom was almost the same as the same month last year when the Kingdom received about 610,000 visitors, with a slight decrease of 1.6%, according to Al-Ghad.
The source confirmed that these numbers recorded by the tourism sector are the beginning of a breakthrough and a return to recovery for the tourism sector, especially after the crisis it faced for nearly two years which heavily burdened it and caused severe damage in the sector.
The source pointed out that the movement of incoming tourism has started to return its steps to the Kingdom from countries in Europe and America, and this is a positive indicator for the recovery of the activity of tourism establishments.
According to data issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the number of tourism facilities amounts to 3765 facilities, including 1388 tourist restaurants, about 933 hotels of various classifications, approximately 868 tourism and travel offices, about 261 tourist car rental offices, and 238 stores for eastern artifacts, and about 26 companies specialized in tourist transport.
Last year, the Kingdom received more than 7 million visitors from various countries around the world, with an increase of 15.3% compared to the previous year, when the number of visitors reached 6.1 million.
Tourism income, during the past year, amounted to about 7.8 billion dollars, achieving a growth rate of 7.6% compared to the year 2024.
The source added that the reservation rate for incoming tourism to the Kingdom during the upcoming season is reassuring.
