Khaberni - Civil defense teams discovered a mass grave on Wednesday that contains the remains of several people near Daaboul Street in the Al-Tadamon neighborhood in Damascus, according to the Syrian "Al-Ikhbariya" channel.
The channel reported that the locals consider this grave part of a series of mass graves for victims of the defunct regime forces, adding that civil defense teams are working on identifying the locations of the remains, while the internal security forces have imposed a security cordon around the area to ensure the safety of the operation.
The channel cited consistent sources confirming the existence of 11 bodies of victims, pending official confirmation from civil defense.
Last Monday, civil defense discovered a mass grave containing the remains of 7 unidentified individuals, in the nearby Hawi desert in the eastern countryside of Bukamal in Deir Ezzor.
During maintenance work on December 14th, last year, in the Rawad area on the outskirts of Deir Ezzor city, electricians discovered the remains of several unidentified individuals.
The director of the Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate in Deir Ezzor, Ziad Al-Aboud, explained at the time that the civil defense teams received a report from the workshop workers indicating the presence of two bags containing a collection of bones and remains of individuals, according to the "SANA" agency.
