Axios Washington and Tehrans Talks in Muscat Back on Track with Pressure from Allies

Khaberni - The American website "Axios", quoting officials in Washington, revealed that the plans for talks between the United States and Iran, scheduled in the Omani capital "Muscat" on Friday, have returned to the right track.

This shift came as a result of intense pressure exerted by leaders of Arab and Islamic countries, with nine countries in the region sending urgent messages to the Trump administration, urging it not to cancel the meeting and to give diplomatic efforts an additional chance.

The officials clarified that Arab and Muslim leaders urged the American side to keep the meeting date to listen to the Iranian proposal before making any escalatory decisions.

In this regard, a US official confirmed that the Trump administration responded to these demands and agreed to hold the meeting out of respect for the wishes of its main allies in the region, reflecting the regional countries' keenness to avoid a full-scale military confrontation.
