Khaberni - Faisal Al-Fayez, the President of the Senate, conveyed a verbal message from His Majesty King Abdullah II to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It included His Majesty's greetings to the President, wishing Uzbekistan and its people further progress and prosperity under his wise leadership.
His Majesty the King affirmed in his message, delivered by Al-Fayez today, Wednesday, the pride in the strong and established friendship relations between Jordan and Uzbekistan. He expressed eagerness to continue strengthening and enhancing these relations in various fields, and to continue coordinating and consulting on ways to boost bilateral relations and issues of common interest.
During the reception of Al-Fayez and his accompanying delegation, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his deep appreciation and respect for His Majesty the King, noting the strength of the relations between the two friendly countries, and the alignment of their views on various issues of mutual interest.
The President of Uzbekistan conveyed his greetings to His Majesty the King and his wishes for Jordan's further progress and prosperity, praising the high level of the bilateral relations.
He stated that there is a mutual understanding by both countries of the importance of enhancing cooperation in various fields, and building on the relations of friendship.
For his part, Al-Fayez expressed his appreciation for the high level that the Jordanian-Uzbek relations have reached, based on mutual respect and joint cooperation, according to a statement by the Senate.
Al-Fayez mentioned that his visit and the accompanying delegation to Uzbekistan come within the framework of the Senate's commitment to build on what was achieved by His Majesty the King's state visit to Uzbekistan, at the invitation of President Mirziyoyev, aimed at serving the mutual interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples, and working to open wider prospects for economic, investment, and parliamentary cooperation.
He appreciated Uzbekistan's supportive positions toward the efforts of His Majesty the King aiming to achieve peace in the Middle East, and at the same time appreciated Uzbekistan’s confirmed importance of the Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The meeting touched on the importance of implementing the agreements reached at the summit that brought together His Majesty the King and President Mirziyoyev, held in Samarkand last August, relating to the development of comprehensive partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Jordan.
It was also affirmed the importance of activating parliamentary friendship groups in Jordan and Uzbekistan and enhancing their role in implementing the agreements concluded between the two countries, in addition to the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fields of trade, industry, tourism, cultural, and humanitarian.
It was confirmed during the meeting the necessity of holding the first meeting of the Jordanian-Uzbek Joint Committee and the Business Forum for leading companies, scheduled to be held in Tashkent this year.
The meeting, attended by the Senators Salama Hammad, the Head of the Administrative Committee Tawfiq Krishan, the Secretary of the Financial and Economic Committee Amer Al-Hadidi, the Chair of the Culture, Youth, and Sports Committee Haifa Al-Najjar, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Dima’ Haddad, exchanged views on current international and regional issues.
