Khaberni - Nassim Al-Abadi, a member of the Parliamentary Energy and Mineral Resources Committee, confirmed that there is no fault in the electricity bills, indicating that the rise in the value of some bills is due to increased consumption and the transition from one tier to a higher one, with a full match between the bill value and the consumption volume.
Al-Abadi explained, during statements to "Al-Mamlaka" channel, that about 85 complaints were handled, where they were edited and verified through field technical examinations, and it turned out that all these complaints are related to the rise in electricity bills due to different consumption patterns.
The committee formed to follow up on complaints regarding the rise in electricity bills, and to technically and field verify them, has confirmed the accuracy of the bills and the safety of meters and adopted technical procedures, with no technical faults, according to a statement issued by it.
The committee, formed at the recommendation of the Parliamentary Energy and Mineral Resources Committee, chaired by the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, with members representing the Jordanian Engineers Association and the Royal Scientific Society, in addition to an observer member from the Parliamentary Energy Committee, conducted a field investigation on about 20% of the complaints across various provinces of the kingdom.
The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission confirmed its ongoing role in monitoring and technical oversight with full transparency and responsibility, following up on complaints received through official channels, and taking necessary corrective and regulatory actions according to the legal frameworks in operation, ensuring the protection of subscribers' rights and the integrity of the electricity system.
