Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, received on Wednesday, the Deputy Secretary-General for Peace, Security, and Defense at the European External Action Service (EEAS) Charles Fries.
Safadi affirmed during the meeting the strength of the strategic partnership between Jordan and the European Union and the keenness to expand cooperation prospects in various fields, including defense and security, and the importance of building on the outcomes of the Jordanian-European summit hosted by Amman on January 8th, 2026.
The meeting discussed regional situations, particularly the developments in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, in addition to efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
Today at the Ministry’s headquarters, the first security and defense dialogue between the European Union and Jordan was held, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Daifallah Alfayez, and the Deputy Secretary-General for Peace, Security, and Defense at the European External Action Service (EEAS) Charles Fries.
The dialogue comes within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Jordan and the European Union and follows up on the outcomes of the first summit between Jordan and the European Union.
