Khaberni - The Ministry of Environment and the Greater Salt Municipality confirmed that there is no leakage of sewage in the Magharib housing areas or the neighboring lands, after conducting a comprehensive field inspection of the site.
The ministry stated in a press release on Wednesday that after what was circulated on social media previously about the existence of a sewage leak in the area, coordination between the relevant authorities was made and a field inspection and video filming were conducted, showing no leakage from the absorption pit of the housing, and the presence of tanks working on pumping sewage regularly.
The statement added that according to a field inspection by the Environment Directorate in Balqa Governorate, no environmental observations related to the leakage of sewage outside the scope of the absorption pit were recorded.
The ministry and municipality highlighted that the continuous increase in population might increase the pressure on tank operation, which calls for future work on establishing an integrated sewage system to reduce environmental and health effects in the area.
