Electricity Complaints Followup Committee Bills are Correct

A technical committee confirms the accuracy of electricity bills and the absence of technical issues after inspecting 20% of complaints

The formed committee to follow up on complaints of rising electricity bills, and to technically and field verify them, after conducting a field inspection on about 20% of the complaints across various provinces of the kingdom, confirmed the accuracy of the bills, the integrity of the meters and the technical procedures adopted, and the absence of any technical defect.

The committee added that the increase in some bills is due to the change in consumption patterns and moving to the higher tariff tier due to the current weather conditions, decrease in temperature, and increase in usage hours, which is a repetitive and documented pattern under such conditions.

The formation of the committee was recommended by the Parliamentary Energy and Mineral Resources Committee, chaired by the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission and with membership from representatives of the Jordan Engineers Association, the Royal Scientific Society, and a monitoring member from the Parliamentary Energy Committee.

The authority emphasized it will continue to perform its monitoring and technical roles with full transparency and responsibility, follow up on any complaints received through official channels, and take necessary corrective and regulatory actions in accordance with applicable legal frameworks, to ensure the protection of subscribers' rights and the integrity of the electrical system.
