Tkiyet Um Ali and the Food and Drug Administration Sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Food Safety and Quality

Khaberni - Tkiyet Um Ali Association for Voluntary and Charitable Work and the Public Food and Drug Administration signed, on Tuesday 3/2/2026, a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing joint cooperation to ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality food to the beneficiaries of the Tkiyah's programs.

The memorandum was signed by Mr. Samer Balqar, the General Manager of Tkiyet Um Ali, and Dr. Rana Obeidat, the General Manager of the Public Food and Drug Administration.

Balqar stated that this partnership reflects Tkiyet Um Ali's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality across all its food programs, emphasizing that food safety is a fundamental pillar of the Tkiyah’s approach, which is based on protecting human dignity and health, adding that the signing of this memorandum reflects the Tkiyah’s commitment to sustainable institutional work and is a commitment to provide safe food to beneficiaries at different stages of preparation, storage, and distribution. The signing of the memorandum also comes as a commitment from both sides to a continuous development approach, enhancing institutional partnerships, and ensuring the highest levels of food safety and quality.

On her part, Obeidat confirmed that the memorandum embodies the institution's commitment to transferring its technical expertise and knowledge exchange with national institutions, and building capacities in the areas of food safety and quality throughout the food chain, in line with the best national and international practices and standards, noting that cooperation will include providing specialized training programs for the staff of Tkiyet Um Ali in areas of food safety and quality, implementing good manufacturing practices, self-control systems, exchanging technical expertise, and awareness and education.

Obeidat participated in the field volunteer work in the "Wayfarer" program by providing hot meals in a gesture that reflects the importance of volunteer work. Additionally, a presentation was given about the Tkiyah's efforts and programs whether the food parcel program, the food meal program, the sacrifice program, the basic needs programs, the emergency rapid response programs to deliver aid to the people in Gaza, and the capacity-building programs at the Abu Abdullah Foundation. The memorandum was signed in the presence of a delegation from the directors and employees of the institution, among them; Dr. Amani Haddad - coordinator of the memorandum and Director of the regional directorate Dr. Khaled Al Roussan, food affairs and international cooperation advisor Dr. Jaafar Al Qudah, and the Amman branch manager Engineer Mamoun Sayahin, alongside the Tkiyah’s concerned team.
