The Director General of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, Dr. Munir Al-Barsh confirmed that more than 550 martyrs and over 1500 injured have fallen by Israeli army gunfire since the ceasefire in Gaza Strip.
Al-Barsh pointed out that the continuation of the Israeli aggression today resulted in the martyrdom of 21 Palestinians, including children, women, and the elderly, and injured 12 others, in the cities of Gaza and Khan Younis in the southern part of the strip.
Al-Barsh accused the Israeli occupation of fabricating matters and setting preconceived narratives, then presenting itself to the world as the victim, "although the world has not seen those injured from the occupation army forces," according to Al Jazeera.
He said that the Israeli occupation continues to prevent the entry of medicine into the area, noting that more than 51% of essential medicines are unavailable and more than 72% of medical supplies, in addition to more than 11,000 cancer patients being deprived of treatment, among them 4,000 patients supposed to be transferred to Egypt, but the occupation refuses to let them out claiming that the World Health Organization has not provided the names.
On his part, the spokesman for the Civil Defense in Gaza, Major Mahmoud Basil stated that the Israeli occupation army began, since dawn today - directly - bombing civilians and families that had displaced in the eastern areas of the Gaza Strip.
He said that the Israeli occupation is carrying out a clear and barbaric violation of defenseless civilians, and had killed 32 Palestinians clearly without any warning and without any justification just less than a week ago, accusing the occupation of killing intentionally, i.e., killing anyone it deems a threat without verifying this.
Basil clarified that there is no change on the ground and there is an Israeli escalation with baseless justifications, pointing out that the war has not stopped in the region and the residents are being systematically killed.
Catastrophic Level
In the same context, the Director of Ambulance and Emergency in Gaza, Dr. Fares Afana confirmed that the health situation in the sector has reached a catastrophic level amid continued Israeli targeting that has not stopped despite talks of a "fragile calm".
Afana explained that the hospitals received severe injuries resulting from artillery shells, shrapnel, and sniper bullets targeting civilians' homes in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, which resulted in the martyrdom of entire families.
Afana revealed that the occupation has destroyed 80% of the ambulance system, pointing out that medical service teams are working with decrepit vehicles while the occupation authorities prevent the entry of more than 100 modern ambulances waiting at the crossings.
