Khaberni - The advisory council for the College of Media at Petra University discussed mechanisms for developing the college's programs and updating the curricula to include axes of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data analysis.
The dean of the college, Professor Dr. Ali Nejadat, said that the college is keen on aligning its educational outcomes with the rapidly evolving technological developments, adding that expanding professional certifications for faculty members and students enhances professional efficiency and links theoretical knowledge with practical application.
The chairman of the board of directors of "Al-Rai" newspaper and former Minister of Information, Samih Al-Maaytah, praised the college's journey and achievements, describing it as representing an advanced national model in preparing competencies, and pointing out that updating the infrastructure reflects a clear vision for modern media education.
The head of the Jordanian Journalists Syndicate, Tareq Al-Momani, called for broader prospects for cooperation between the syndicate and the college in the areas of specialized training, emphasizing the importance of forming partnerships with media institutions to enhance field training and hone the skills of students in line with market needs.
The council discussed preparing clear standards for student graduation projects in cooperation with the public and private sectors, and the college's readiness to obtain Jordanian accreditation. The attendees also reviewed the achievements of the "Petra Platform," the college's budget for 2026, and the mechanisms for promoting specializations.
The meeting was attended by the journalist from "Al-Mamlaka" channel, Muslim Alimat, and the representative from the British Broadcasting Corporation "BBC" Harith Habashneh, the journalist from "Al-Ghad" newspaper, Iman Al-Faris, the graduate representative Kamal Nezal, and the student representative Natalie Al-Zawahreh.
