The Ministry of Environment Completes the Delivery of 160 Waste Containers as Part of the Program to Reduce Random Dumping

Khaberni - The Ministry of Environment continued on Wednesday to implement its executive program to reduce the random dumping of waste, where 160 waste containers with a capacity of 1100 liters were delivered to several tourist and vital areas in the kingdom.

According to a statement from the ministry, the distribution included 70 containers for the Ma'an governorate, 70 containers for the Petra area, in addition to 20 containers for tourist sites in Bergesh and Umm al-Naml, as part of ongoing efforts to improve waste management and maintain public cleanliness at sites of environmental and touristic significance.

Within the same program, 50 hanging waste baskets were delivered to the Department of Antiquities, in preparation for their distribution in archaeological sites and areas, contributing to enhancing cleanliness and preserving the civilizational and heritage value of those locations.

The Ministry of Environment affirmed that these steps are part of its ongoing plan to support entities involved with the necessary infrastructure for waste management, and to reduce negative practices associated with random dumping, indicating its continuation in distributing containers and baskets during the next phase as part of the executive program, in cooperation with partners.
